Set up in 1978, Mayurbhanj Cultural Association is a cultural and intellectual forum that brings together the people of Mayurbhanj, based in and around the capital, on a common platform so as to facilitate a lively interaction among them. In its utsav format it has the laudable goal of showcasing the rich literary and cultural heritage of the erstwhile princely state.
Our key objectives have been to promote Odia Culture, tradition, heritage, education, art, music, etc.
To preserve, perpetuate and promote the Odia culture and communities with a mission statement- Eka mana, Eka Prana, Eka Pranta, Eka Chinha, which means getting Odias together.
We are committed to our social duties with the purpose of saving lives by organizing blood donation camps, health & disaster relief camps etc.
Mayurbhanj Utsav emanates from the picturesque north eastern corner of the state, but embraces the whole of Odisha.
The 10* year of Utsav has a special significance in that it is being clubbed with the state level 150" Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo. as a way of honouring the wishes of the people of Mayurbhanj, The Association missed celebrating the milestone four years ago due to the pandemic.
During the three days of the Utsav, the visitors enjoy the taste of delicious mudhi and mansa, a unique culinary delight from Mayurbhani.The vegetarians get the taste of Dala Khechudi and Ram Ruchuka curry.Other mouth watering dishes from Mayurbhanj are also available in different stalls for the visitors.
Mayurbhanj Utsav emanates from the picturesque north eastern corner of the state, but embraces the whole of Odisha. No wonder the Utsav has been a toast among the aficionados of art and culture in the state. It has been a hit with the common mass too.The Utsav has three components – Cultural programme, Craft meta and Cuisine fairs.
Like every other thing, the Utsav was h, by the two-year long shutdown of normal life during the Covici 19 pandemic and is set to re-emerge, with renewed vigour, after a four-year hiatus. The last Utsav was held in January 2020.
The Mayurbhanj Utsav i the dream child of the Mayurbhanj Cultural Association, Odisha. The grand event will be organized at Utkal Mandap, Odisha Sangeet ‘Mahavidyalaya, Sachibalaya Marg, Bhubaneswar. The Utsav 2011 was inaugurated by His Excellency Sri M.C. Bhandare, Governor of Odisha on 25 of February 2011. The Utsav 2012 was celebrated from 20″ to 22 of January 2012. And the Utsav’ 2013 was organised from 4° to 6″ January 2013. The Utsav 2015 was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik on 9 January 2015. Hon’ble Union Minister for Oil & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, graced the Utsav on 10″ January 2016. Her Excellency Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Honourable Governor, Jharkhand and Past President of our association has graced the Utsav in the closing ceremony of Mayurbhanj Utsav 2017 on 8″ January 2017. The Mayurbhan; Utsav 2018 was inaugurated by Sri Ashok Chnadra Panda, Minister of Culture, Government of Odisha on 6″ March 2018. The Mayurbhanj Utsav 2019 was inagurated again by Sri Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister of Culture, Government of Odiisha on 18″ January 2019, Sri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, graced the Mayurbhanj Utsav 2019 on 19% January 2019, On 10* January 2020, Sti Manoranjan Panigrahi, IRS, Secretary, Dept. of Culture, Govt. of Odisha graced the Utsav.

The dexterity of diverse craft traditions of Mayurbhanj is shown off to advantage by the metal craft, the stone ware of Khiching, the tasar textile products, pressed khali leaf, sabai grass and other forest products from Simlipal.
The Utsav provides a platform for talented young performers from the remote areas of Mayurbhanj. Eminent and celebrated dancers, musicians, singers, actors and literary personalities of Odisha also perform during the Utsav,adding to the delight of the audience. The enchanting rhythms and acrobatics of the Mayurbhanj Chhau dancers enthrall them. The Iyrical, sweet, melodious Jhumar songs stir their souls. Such cultural extravaganza is performed on a huge decorative stage for three days.
